Make school holidays creative and fun with awesome home printables

There’s nothing worse than, “Mom, I’m bored” during school holidays. With winter officially here, there’s no guarantee that the weather will play its part. This means there’s a good chance that you’ll be spending some time indoors with the kids. Keeping them occupied and enjoying themselves doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, there are plenty of great ideas that will let them get creative these holidays.

Print activities at home

The term may be over but it’s still important to keep your children stimulated and learning whilst they’re out of the classroom. By printing your own activities and crafts for your little ones to do at home, you’ll be able to skip those expensive colouring books and activity packs. As an added bonus, you can use your printer to print a few more when the kids need another distraction. Here are some activities that they’ll love.

  • Colour-in fun

Colouring in will always be a firm favourite for those who enjoy being creative. Choose a theme, download your pages and print them at home. Just be sure to have some art supplies on hand and some free space on the fridge door to stick their masterpieces up. Grab some awesome pictures here. https://www.coloring.ws/coloring.html

  • Print some word searches

Educational games are a great way to pass the time whilst on school holiday. Activities like this will help keep the kids learning during their off period. Here are some word searches we think your children will enjoy. You can also select the level of difficulty depending on their age and reading level. https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/free-summer-word-search-puzzles-kids-2809183

  • Make a special scrapbook
Teaching your kids to treasure their experiences and memories is very important. It’s also a good way to boost memory. Why not help them choose and print out their favourite photos of family and friends and create their own scrapbook? This is also something that they can add to during their next school holidays and at the end of the year. • Let them puzzle!

Puzzles are always fantastic for boosting concentration and strengthening your child’s problem-solving abilities. Ask them to choose their favourite theme and find some puzzles that depict them. From dinosaurs to cupcakes and even butterflies, there are loads of options to choose from. You could even make them do one a day to ensure that their brains get a decent workout whilst they’re on holiday. The kids can also colour them in for a 2-in-1 activity. When they’re done, why not get them laminated to keep for use later on? Here are some of our favourites. https://mrprintables.com/printable-puzzles.html
